You know when you do something that absorbs you utterly? You forget you have a body, a mind full of racing thoughts, you just are, you’re just doing and, for a moment, you are gorgeously free? That’s what I’m looking for in April. Immersion.
For me, this usually happens when I’m writing, cooking something elaborate, or walking in the countryside. But Spring is a time of earth and I’m craving the kind of immersion that involves being up to my wrists in soil and seeing green shoots breaking through the surface. Perhaps it’s a need to reconnect, I’ve been so caught up in my own feelings and activities lately. I need earthing again.
This month’s list accidentally captures the themes of spring: earth, reconnection and birth. Here’s what I’m looking forward to in April.
