There are flowers in my garden and birds singing in the canopies and, the other day, we had our first pre-7am sunrise in the UK. The season is beginning to change. I don’t want to say Spring is here, or it’s becoming Spring. I’ve been on this earth long enough to know about Fool’s Spring which is exactly where we are in the year right now.
Last year, in February, there was a day so warm and sunny that I had a picnic by the river in my lunchbreak. We sat on the grass, with the sun warming our skin and watched a blue tit looking for a nest-site. We could smell Spring in the air. Then, two days later, the temperature was below zero again and, as we turned the page into March, we faced blizzards. And this is how it goes, Fool’s Spring isn’t going to fool me again this year!
Still, I’m enjoying the Fool’s version while it’s here. Enjoying the fragrance of blossoms in the air and the feeling of the sun on my face. After a tough, tough winter, I’m hoping this is the start of the long-lost energy returning to my body.
